My wonderful kindergarten students are curious and excited about learning. I try to provide them with activities that cover the required academic content but that also makes learning fun along the way. They LOVE working with their peers in small groups and they thrive when exploring the world with hands-on materials.
My goal this school year is to create STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) activities that will enhance our current curriculum.
Having hands-on projects will encourage my students to be creative problem-solvers.
My Project
STEAM projects are exciting and engaging. I want to enhance the current curriculum with more hands-on materials and problem-solving activities. The Fairy Tale Problem-Solving STEM kit - Set 1 features three kindergarten favorites: The Three Little Pigs, The Three Billy Goats Gruff, and Goldilocks and the Three Bears. The students will be challenged to engineer happier endings to these fairy tales—as they design a house that can’t be blown down, construct a bridge that keeps 3 goats safe from the troll and build a chair even Goldilocks can’t break. The kits help children discover the STEM in their favorite fairy tales—and naturally inspire them to explore each challenging situation until they find a solution.
