My students need a listening station during our reading station time. They also need books on CD for this station. The additional headphones will be for the other technology stations in our classroom.

The exposure to books alone will help them get where they need to be. They LOVE having books read to them and discovering new things in those books. Their minds are like little sponges waiting to be filled with new and exciting adventures.
My Project
Reading is a huge part of a Kindergartener's growth. A listening center will boost our reading station time. Not only will it keep the children engaged, but it will be a great way to practice reading.
Hearing a book read on CD helps children see how the words on the page can come alive.
A listening center will be a great reassurance for my struggling readers. They will be able to follow along without having a feeling of failure. This will help them grow as they begin to recognize sight words and sentence structure. They can do all of these things while listening to a fun and engaging story.
