Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My kindergarten students are so excited to learn and grow. For many, this is their first opportunity to experience a school setting. Our school community welcomes students and their families from all over the world. We celebrate all cultures and learn from each other.
It is a joy to see my students learn letters, sounds ,and begin to read.
These students amaze me every day! The majority come from poverty, but they don't let that discourage them. These boys and girls overcome many obstacles as they work hard to lay the foundation of a successful education. They have big dreams, and I am there to encourage and support them along the way.
My Project
My students are asked to stay in their personal space this year due to social distancing. The wobble chairs and balance ball seats will allow my kindergarteners some movement and flexibility while improving focus during learning.
Kindergarten students are naturally curious and love to explore.
With literacy materials such as rhyming sorts, letter matching games, and sight word fishing, my kids will be able to learn letters through various hands-on engaging practice. In addition, my students will make huge growth in math with the help of the number and counting materials.
