My students need four Chromebooks with accident plans and a portable projector.

96.6% of the students at our school are from low-income families. Last year, our student mobility rate was 43.2% meaning that each year almost half of our school's student population is new. Our families struggle to make ends meet and to be an active partner in this education journey. School is not necessarily a high priority for many of our students, but for some it is THE priority.
For many students, coming to school is the bright light in their dark days, and we strive to give each student the care, attention, and academic rigor required to help them reach their full potential!
My students love to play, learn, and they especially love to be leaders of the school! My goal is to make school a safe place, help my students develop a growth mindset, and to challenge my students to try their best to accomplish any goal they set for themselves.
The world is a fast-moving place. Everyone is always on the go, and it is easier now with technology. One of the things lacking in my classroom is the effective use of technology. There are not enough computers in my classroom. I have two computers in my classroom for up to 30 students. There is not enough time for every student to interact with technology on a daily basis.
My kindergarten students need these Chromebooks to help them become prepared for this tech-savvy, fast-paced world we live in.
I believe that Kindergarten students should be provided time to interact with computers, laptops, and tablets in an educational setting. These Chromebooks will be used during the small group instruction time in my classroom. I plan to incorporate Google Classroom, which will allow my students to create, to collaborate, and to submit various literacy and math projects online. The Chromebooks will also be used for research, learning games, listening to reading, and so much more.
The classroom projector will help to provide a whole-group visual of how to complete assignments on the Chromebook. I can project their lessons onto the whiteboard for all to see. This technology will enhance student learning and ensure ALL students will be able to access the curriculum. I will be able to project student work and examples to show how assignments need to be done. This will also allow me to access the internet to show students videos and pictures that go along with our curriculum!
Please help my students to achieve their highest potential by giving them the technology they need to keep up with the fast-paced world.
