My classroom library and student personal book totes are literacy resources that my students really enjoy. I read on the carpet to them, they read in guided reading groups with me, they buddy read, and they read independently! Every student receives their own book bag that is treated with love and care, and they are thankful for the opportunities to read. My kinder cuties also get to take their book totes home to share their learning with their family.
This project will provide my students with the opportunity to read with their parents each week, work on their reading fluency, comprehension skills, print concepts, and allow a partnership between home and school.
The book requested in this project will provide kindergartners with the first book in their book totes. These books will continue to help my students grow stronger in reading. Kindergarten students are curious and love to explore the world through books. I have also requested foam letters for students to learn the letters in their first and last names. This tactile resource will also give them a model to write their name.
