My students need fun, hands-on tools to practice letters, sounds, and sight words like whiteboards, magnetic letters, stamps, letter blocks, beads, and stamp pads so Word Work can be as fun and meaningful as possible!
The students in our classrooms have a wide variety of academic and social skills. Our students may all be working on different skills or learning through a variety of ways, but they are all part of the same community and work best when they are all together! Collaboration and group work around fun, creative activities allows all of our students to grow and learn together, regardless of their abilities.
Our school is a place where all kids are honored for the unique abilities and talents they bring.
My Project
A kinesthetic approach to learning is not only fun for students but also proven to have positive outcomes for a diverse student community. Learning letters, sounds, and sight words is a critical part of of kindergarten curriculum and these fun, hands-on tools will make that process more enjoyable, more meaningful, and ultimately more successful for all of our learners. Building words with letter Legos, stamping letters and words with ink and play doh stampers, lacing letter beads, and constructing words with magnetic letters on magnetic whiteboards will bring another layer of language learning to the many tools we already use in our classrooms to teach these critical kindergarten skills through our Daily 5 literacy program. Word Work will never be the same again with our new metal drawers full of engaging letter and word practice activities!
