My students are energetic and love school. For many of my students this is their first time experiencing learning in a large group setting. We are spending a lot of time learning about each other and how to care for those around us.
We are lucky to be in a culturally rich classroom where we can learn about diversity.
Honoring and appreciating each other's difference is an important part of our every day. I feel lucky to have five different languages spoken within our class.
As we learn to read, write, and count, we also are learning how to be good friends. So why not combine all of this and play some games together.
Playing games will help us with the academic work, but also teach us valuable life skills.
With a variety of games we can practice many of these different skills. How to take turns, how to win and lose, how to cooperate and strategize to solve a problem, and how to learn new rules and follow them. We are hoping to combine academics with social emotional skills all while having fun playing a game.
