My students are full of energy and are excited to learn and explore. They enjoy hands on experiences, lots of visuals and dramatic play opportunities. This is my third year teaching kindergarten and every day is an adventure.
Our school population is made up of students from 16 different nations with 23 different languages spoken.
Our student population is very diverse. My students come from various backgrounds. The many at-risk students I see each day deserve to have some great resources to help motivate and engage them in learning. As an educator, I hope to give these students experiences and opportunities they can take with them with hope they will become successful life long learners.
Kindergarten is a time to learn and play. Through play I want to teach them that learning can be fun! I will use play foam, magnetic tiles, Lincoln logs and other fun toys during our center time, which is our time of the day where our students learn social and emotional learning through play. With engaging and fun toys my students will learn how to share and communicate with others.
I want to teach them that reading and math can be fun!
With the use of Boggle, Launch and Learn, Nuts About Counting and other learning games I can engage my hard to reach students in learning to count and read.
