Help me give my students hands-on activities to explore math and science concepts with a math library and a real bugs discovery kit. Also, they will enjoy tactile exploration using kinetic sensory sand.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I work with the best students in our school! I teach Kindergarten which makes my students the youngest students to enter our school gate every morning. You would be amazed at how much these young minds can apply themselves to learning.
The fact that they can manage to absorb a full 6 hours of learning at such a young age is what makes them special!
Let me also mention how cute they are at this age.
In addition, as members of a low-income school district, my students face several challenges both in and out of the classroom. I grew up in a similar situation and it is my mission to provide them with creative and meaningful learning experiences, so that they too can have a successful future.
My Project
The materials requested will allow the kiddos an opportunity to explore science and math concepts in a group setting. In addition, the students will practice social skills by sharing, taking turns, and demonstrating responsibility. During our exploration and experimentation class time, the students will be engaged as they move around different stations in our classroom. Specifically, my students will review math concepts by modeling, recognizing, writing, counting and ordering numbers using the Scoop-A Bug Sorting Kit and counting jars. Other groups will discover insects & arachnids with the use of the Bugs Discovery Kit. To practice and reinforce letter recognition students will enjoy the Write the Letter Activity center and have fun with the Dot and Learn Alphabet journal. My little students will practice fine motor skills using the alphabet dough mats with dough rollers and tweezers. The Kinetic Sensory Sand will also support fine motor skills and tactile exploration for all students. Last, my students will imagine wonders through dramatic play using the Create-A-Scene Felt Board Series and the What's Inside? Soft Feely box.
My students are at an age where they are eager to explore and experiment, and these materials provide the ideal opportunities to do so.
I believe that a classroom environment that allows students to explore and use their imagination helps create lifelong learners, and I’m excited to witness these big minds in action!
