Teaching in beautiful interior Alaska, I am proud to work with such inquisitive, thoughtful, and energetic children.
My students are creative and motivated, and they love learning.
They like to listen to stories and talk about their own experiences. They like to draw, sing, and count, and they love participating in show and tell.
When the children come to our class, they are met with a story, a song, and a fun class greeting like the Hooray Chant, Friends in our Class chant, and the Roaring Greeting. I focus on students' potential, interests, and growth. Every one of them wants to learn, and I can help facilitate this for them.
My Project
Kindergarteners love books and we read them often for fun, to build language, and to learn about anything and everything! I have two amazing books by Todd Parr in my classroom collection. These books are fun and colorful, with wonderful messages in each. Students love them, and I would like to add more Todd Parr books to our class library.
Kindergarteners have strong emotions - and the author/illustrator Todd Parr knows how to help kids explore, understand, and celebrate all sorts of feelings.
The amazing books I'd like to add to my collection range from "Don't Worry" and "Feelings" to "I'm Not Scared" and "Be Who You Are." I believe these books would be so beneficial to my students, especially during this pandemic year.
