Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

As a first year teacher, I am beginning to fill my classroom with a variety of materials for my students to use. I teach in the city of Chicago, at a low income inner city school. For many of my students, this is their first time away from their parents and in an outside learning environment. I want to surround my students with fun and educational centers that will engage them in learning AND fun. By fulfilling this request you will help to make my students first year at school a success. The centers will be set up throughout my classroom and will allow students to work individually or in small groups on a variety of activities. Centers allow me as a teacher to focus my attention on small groups of students at one time. They also help promote independence among the children. If you choose to help with this request you are not simply donating money to a cause, you are helping to enrich the lives of our children...our future.
