Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
You're only five years old once. Kindergarten should be a wondrous experience filled with hands-on learning, color, and magic. This describes the aesthetic environment I want to provide for my 23 students. Although my classroom features tons of student work, it lacks the physical elements and comforts of an engaging, fun learning environment. Donors Choose can greatly assist me in establishing an inspiring home away from home for my students. They have worked so hard this year and really deserve much more than the drab classroom facilities currently at their disposal. The following list of items corresponds to my vision of a truly awesome kindergarten classroom. Any items donated to my class would be greatly appreciated.
The Earthworks™ Carpet is a
great rug for our meeting area that will accommodate 23 growing children and introduce the wonders of nature in its print.
We want to fill the classroom with child art and choice time, at the end of the school day, is a great time to generate it. By accommodating up to 4 children, the two requested Martin Kid's Dual Art Center Deluxe painting centers will enable us to use painting as a choice time center without squabbles and tears.
The Nasco Classic Dollhouse
will provide a lovely "Dramatic Play" option.
The 23 See & Store Book Pouches
will help students organize and keep their independent reading books in the best place possible, on chair backs.
The three requested tote storage racks are a wonderful solution to the three huge, battered shelves with mismatched bins in the classroom which are used for various centers. One organizer can be used for the class library, another for the writing center, and the third for the math center.
My students currently use tables and chairs that are too high for them. The "Rainbow Group Tables" classroom chairs from Lakeshore Learning will correct this and also end shuffling students for guided reading and for daily student-teacher conferences.
Calloway House's "Seat Set" is intended to accompany the classroom library area and will create an incentive to visit the class library more often.
Kids deserve beauty!
