My students amaze me each and every day! This kindergarten classroom is filled with students speaking a variety of languages who come from all kinds of backgrounds. Some students are here as refugees from another country, some are currently living in homeless shelters with their families, while others live in apartments with several families.
Despite their circumstances, they come to school each day ready to learn with a smile on their faces!
My students work hard each and every day in order to get ready for first grade. Each student has similar but different goals to achieve each day, and everyone is making progress toward their goal. I want all my students to be proud of their accomplishments no matter how small.
My Project
My students are in need of clean clothing. Many of my students are homeless and have very little of their own. It can be very difficult to keep up with growing children, and I am hoping to give students clothing that fits them properly.
Kindergarten is a big time in a child's life.
For many, it is their first time at school and that can lead to all kinds of accidents. Students are trying to open their juice, cereal, and milk which in turn leads to spills. Also, my students are still very young and having a bathroom accident is something that is common at the beginning of the school year. I am hoping that I can use these clothes for the students to change into, instead of having to just wait until they dry when it comes to spills or all that learning time being missed waiting in the nurses' office until their family can drop off extra clothes.
