My students are a wonderful and exciting group of four and five-year-old boys and girls, in an ICT (integrated collaborative teaching) classroom. This means that 40% of my students are in special education, and the rest are in general education.
We are a Title I school and work hard to ensure that everyone learns and succeeds.
I want them to have everything they need and deserve to have to make their school year exciting and fun, as well as productive and successful throughout the entire year.
My Project
My students are amazing and they are learning new things every day. Now that Spring is finally here, we are going to learn about planting and butterflies. These materials are greatly needed so that my students can learn through hands-on materials and great reading books.
Do you remember the feeling of watching something grow from a seed, knowing that you helped it grow?
Well, I want my students to learn to plant. They need plant pots and soil to help do just that. They will grow the seeds we have and document them in their journals.
We will also learn about butterflies through the use of the butterfly pavilion. My students will watch the larvae turn to cocoons and then to adult butterflies right in front of their eyes. Then they will watch as they fly away.
We also need books about planting and butterflies so they can read up about each topic as we are exploring them throughout the next few months.
