I have 24 adorable, creative students in my class this year! Being their first year in school, they are all eager to learn and be active both in the classroom and on the playground. I love being their first experience to so many new things.
We are located in a middle class neighborhood, where students need the opportunity to be engaged in their learning.
They have taken on many leadership opportunities this year, and I am excited to see their growth in leadership when it comes to problem solving and working together. Students need to be the leaders and choose what works for them.
Kindergarten students have a lot of energy to release. One way to do that is when they are out at recess. We have swings and a play structure, but other than that the playground doesn't have many toys. We are asking for 4 tricycles to help students learn the coordination of riding a bike and hope they can release some energy during their outside break.
Students will learn the concept of waiting in line for the bikes, the action of movement needed to ride a bike, and practice following directions for how and where to ride the bikes.
I can just picture giant smiles on all 124 TK/Kindergarten students when they see the new bikes appear and they have something else to do while at recess.
