My kindergartners are creative, enthusiastic and eager to explore! They have a passion for learning from day one and it only continues to grow throughout the school year as they are given various learning activities to dive into.
Each kindergartner thrives BEST when they are given the opportunity to learn and ask questions in a hands on environment.
Every year my group of students enter with a wide range of life experience such as access to pre-school/early kindergarten, books, learning/play materials and family involvement. I also have students who enter my room each year as English language learners. What better way to get them a solid starting foundation then to provide them with common sensory experiences?
My Project
The materials listed below have been chosen with sensory play as well as fine motor skills in mind; Play-Doh, kinetic sand, chalk, magnets, water beads and the many tools to go along with them. When students are given opportunities to maximize their experience within the realm of sensory play and fine motor development, there's no telling how much they will grow!
Sensory play supports language development, cognitive growth, motor skills, problem solving skills and social interaction.
By giving my kindergartners access to these materials, you're helping them in a way that will play a pivotal role in their success throughout the rest of their school years and beyond.
