Many of the children in my class are refugees, new to our country and thankful for what we have here. Learning English and the challenges it creates is just one of several hardships many are facing in a new land. They are eager to learn and work so hard every day!
Our diverse classroom has blossomed into a caring, positive and SAFE haven for these children who strive to learn.
The challenges my students face humbles me and I hope that I can better provide them with a rich Kindergarten learning experience.
My Project
Many of my students come to school with just their smiling faces, eager to learn. Our tables in the classroom seat four and the children always share the supplies. By providing these fabulous Aussie Chair Pockets, my Kinders will have their own place to keep some special items. Keeping their leadership notebooks, journals, and reading materials close at hand will put smiles on their faces AND mine!
Our school is proud to be a Lighthouse Leader in Me School.
We work very hard to maintain this honor. In Kindergarten, I am laying that foundation for our leaders every day. We follow the Seven Habits and these chair pockets would help greatly. Being Proactive? Why yes, my supplies are right on my chair! Put First Things First? Yes, Ms. Alexander, first I need to find my journal and then I can write about how I Think Win-Win at recess! And of course, Begin With the End in Mind is the habit I am embracing as their teacher; I want my leaders to be confident, organized and ready to impress. These durable chair pockets will help us all.
