My students need access to text that not only develops their concepts of print but provides them with meaningful content that gives them the opportunity to have in depth, purposeful conversations about social and emotional topics.
I have an amazing group of kind, funny, curious, lovable, smart children. They are so excited to learn and discover and experience new things every day. Our school is a California Distinguished School and a National Blue Ribbon School.

My Project
Academics and curriculum are just one aspect of what we do as teachers. Addressing the social and emotional needs of students, especially young children, is just as important. This book does a wonderful job of communicating the importance of kindness in a way that kindergarteners can understand and relate to.
It is so important to me to create a classroom culture that is warm, inviting, inclusive, safe, and KIND!
This book provides an amazing starting point for some really important and meaningful conversations and lessons. The book supports many social and emotional topics including kindness, empathy, compassion, and how to be a good friend. I believe it is a book that every young child should have in their hands.
