Hooray! This project is fully funded

I am the school guidance counselor at Royalwood Elementary. As a school counselor, I am fortunate to be able to touch the lives of all the students at the school. I see the students on a weekly basis in the classroom. We discuss several topics from self-esteem to career choices. One area that I am passionate about is Character Education. Character Education is an important part of the guidance curriculum. Each month we focus on a particular character trait. Those character traits include; RESPECT, RESPONSIBILITY, TRUSTWORTHINESS, FAIRNESS, CARING and CITIZENSHIP. I would like to continue promoting excellent character and in doing so, additional resources would be beneficial. Proposal: 100 certificates for each character trait, posters of each character trait to hang throughout the school, children's literature and picture books portraying the character traits, and a running board to display names of students with excellent character. The students at Royalwood will benefit from this by understanding the importance of treating others right. In turn, treating others right will increase self-esteem, the school's overall climate, improve family relationships and strengthen the community.
