My students and their families hail from all corners of the globe and bring a wealth of experiences - and expertise - to our classroom community. We're twenty-four third-graders in an international neighborhood in Brooklyn. We're flush with many things: enthusiasm, energy, curiosity. But not technology and related resources.
My students walk into our classroom every day full of life, ready to learn, and excited for what is in store for them that day.
I want them to know I believe in them and they can do anything. They want to explore the world and I want to help them any way I can.
My Project
We currently have no technology available for classroom use. By providing us with six refurbished iPad electronic tablets, you're helping to integrate technology with learning. This resource will allow my students to interact with technology in more personalized ways and will help facilitate greater media literacy and technological skills.
When we study countries like Brazil and China, my students will be able to use the iPads to watch videos about life in these parts of the world and listen to conversations in Portuguese or Mandarin.
Or when we finish our persuasive writing unit, students will be able to use Prezi or Educreations presentations that bring their new understandings to life.
