Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My third graders are energetic learners. They come to school ready to learn with inquisitive minds that are like sponges. My students are eager to learn.
I teach at a large urban elementary Title I school, in which one hundred percent of the students are eligible for a free breakfast and lunch.
Many of my students come from two-parent homes in which both parents work sometimes two jobs trying to make ends meet. Some of my students come from single-parent homes. This year, half of my students speak a different language at home and thus are second language learners. I just want to provide the best educational experiences possible for all my students.
My Project
With this Chromebook that I am requesting, my students would have more access to technology in the classroom. With this one new Chromebook, in addition to the other Chromebooks that I have acquired, I will be able to have half of my class work on research/assignments while the other half work on something else, then switch roles.
Being able to provide opportunities to work on a Chromebook in the class, will help my third graders gain more technology skills which are becoming more important for the future as time goes by.
This Chromebook will be used in the classroom to not only research, but also gain skills such as keyboarding, and browsing the Internet to research topics as well as a tool to focus on individualized reading and math topics.
