As a band director, I wanted to start a jazz band for students to expand their musical talents and education. Two years ago, this became a reality when I started a class for 8th grade students and in this very short time have developed quite a group -- playing, practicing together, learing about jazz/musicians -- outside our symphonic band class. I have some very talented musicians who work hard and enjoy the music, and want to add a few more musicians to this band. We have three students who are great drummers, but as you know a drum set can only be used by one person at a time. We currently have one drum set and would like to add a second one so that the three students can rotate. Please help us keep that easy jazz music alive for our band by contributing an additional drum set for our students. In doing so, the students can spend 20 minutes each during class time playing together, while also working on their music.
