My Students

"Come over here!" and "Look!" are just a few exclamations I hear every day from my students when they build something in our classroom. We start each morning and end each week working in stations building towers, constructing castles, and arranging patterns. We share the shapes we see and the patterns we make with neighbors. Clean up can be reluctant, but student know they will get a chance to try again tomorrow.

Hands on learning is some of the best learning, and my students are excited to participate each day.

They quickly learned it is a no pressure environment with no wrong answers--just magnificent outcomes. My students have a desire to learn about everything around them, and soak things up in an instant.

My students are curious, open-minded, and kind. They give all they have and strive to be stronger students and growing learners each day. They are a social group who love to share all they know with anyone who will listen.

My Project

My students need basic, essential cooking supplies to jump start our cooking club! They want to try new foods while learning how to make recipes at home with foods they already have. We will learn about kitchen safety and cleanliness, food preparation, and teamwork.

We need frying pans to make eggs, cookie cutters for shaping, and flatware to learn proper table etiquette.

We will use spoons for mixing, spatulas for flipping, and colanders for rinsing! This is a completely hands-on club with students doing each step of the prep work-- and the eating. Safety is an important part of cooking, so we need aprons and oven mitts. Sanitation and clean up are also essential, so we'll use large, washable mixing bowls and multiple cutting boards.

Kids in the Kitchen will be making healthy snacks and meals with accessible foods. As we cook, we will learn and talk about foods and food groups, and how to make simple, healthy choices. We are fortunate enough to have a safe and clean work space, but we need supplies to work in teams to prepare these meals.
