Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
"By teaching you will learn. By learning you will teach." This Latin proverb is the hidden message behind my recent project, digital cameras. Giving my students the opportunity to document their learning and teach others through photos or video will increase my students' long-term learning.
Our students come from a very low socioeconomic background and do not have the access to technology.
Our school is 100% free breakfast and lunch. We have the highest rate of ELL (English language learners) in the state and a high amount of special education students
My Project
These digital cameras will give my students an additional outlet to express their multiple intelligences as they learn and grow.
My students and I are asking for your help in purchasing four digital cameras, and two cases so that we can document and extend our learning in the classroom. The ultimate goal is that students become more knowledgeable digital citizens and help teach each other through photos, videos, slideshows, and presentations that they create using the digital cameras. We will use the cameras in all subject areas as we progress throughout the year.
The digital cameras will only be an asset to our classroom.
The more resources we have to learn, the better we can retain that learning through our multiple intelligences. We appreciate any donations that you can provide us as we take this next step in our learning.
