Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are first and foremost a wonderful and kind group of hardworking kids. They come to school every day with smiles on their faces and determination in their hearts. Our school is in a high poverty area. Many students face significant challenges at home. Despite these challenges, we work hard every day to challenge ourselves to grow both academically and socially.
Second grade is a crucial time for reading growth.
In 2nd grade, students are expected to master phonics and decoding skills so they can begin to apply those skills. Having access to authentic texts is crucial to showing students how they can apply their skills and how reading can open up new worlds for them.
My Project
These cases are important for my classroom because they will help to keep our valuable technology resources safe for years to come. Kids love using the iPads and they take good care of them, but kids are kids and accidents happen. These iPad cases will help to make sure that any accidental bumps or falls will not spell the end of their digital learning. My students use a digital learning program every day that meets every student at their level for reading. It important for all students: from those who get extra enrichment about Greek and Latin word parts, to students who are just learning their letter sounds.
