Every year, I get a new group of four and five-year-olds who are eager to learn. They love exploring the world around them and learning about how things work. My students love fairies, trucks, animals, rocks, dirt, princesses, sports, and many other things. I love teaching this age group because I know I can start their school career off in a positive way.
It is so important for students to love coming to school every day and that won't happen if they are expected to do worksheets.
I try to make sure my lessons are engaging and hands-on. I get to lay the foundation for these students that every teacher after me, will add on to. I am so lucky to be able to have the honor of working with our youngest students.
My Project
I am asking for a few items to help start our new year off. We need scissors, bags, and paper to help replace the materials that I sent home with students for distant learning. I am also requesting crayons, printer ink, and compostition notebooks that we need for our everyday use. The students use composition no books to share their learning with their families. We need the printer ink to be able to make colored printouts to create fun center actvities. These materials will be needed no matter where our teaching takes place.
