My students need basic beginning of the year supplies such as 2 boxes of eraser tops, 2 sets of plastic clothespins, a set of book bins, a mobile library cart, a pack of inflatable chairs, 3 packs of name tags, and dry erase markers.
My students are very eager to learn and love to be hands-on and engaged in activities. The literacy activities are great for this experience. The basic supplies are needed to get the school year going where supplies are limited. The chairs and new library set is to enhance our classroom library.
I teach in a very low socioeconomic school.
All of our students receive free breakfast and lunch. The school is Title I and has been a focus school for the past few years. This year, I will be teaching a first grade and the class sizes tend to be around 20.
My Project
I am asking for boxes of eraser tops, sets of plastic clothespins, a set of book bins, a mobile library cart, a pack of inflatable chairs, 3 packs of name tags, and dry erase markers which I cannot personally afford to supply for my students' classroom library and literacy centers. My students will use the basic supplies such as name tags, eraser tops, dry erase markers, etc. on a daily basic to complete necessary assignments. The students will use the chairs and library set in our classroom library. The literacy games will be used in centers to review concepts taught during class. The laminating paper will be used to laminate center activities to help them last longer. The clothes pins will be used to hang student work and anchor charts.
This project will allow me to have the basic supplies needed to start the school year off.
I personally do not have the funds to purchase all these items and supplies are limited where I teach. The library will create a new and fresh look with lots of choices of books based on the students' levels. The games will make phonics skills more fun to learn and review.
