My students need name tags, pipe builders, bumpy balls, and a ring toss.
This project expired on October 1, 2010.
Hooray! This project is fully funded
The beginning of school can be a very intimidating and frightening time for children. I would like to help my students ease into a new situation and get to know each other by working together as teams to build structures and play relays.
Starting school is exciting but some children have a difficult time adapting to a new teacher, school, classroom, principal, and support staff.
In addition to all of these gigantic life changes a child has to navigate their way while sharing my attention with 24 other students. You are going to help me to help them do just that!
My students will learn to cooperate, share, and depend upon each other to complete a task. They will not be able to work individually, so they will have the opportunity to negotiate, cooperate, and get to know each other as they build a structure with the giant pipes, and run team relay races using the balls and ring toss. Name tags will help them to learn each other's names during these activities.
With your help, my students will work in small groups getting to know each other and learning to cooperate and respect the opinions and ideas of others.
Thank you for helping us to make the beginning of the year a fun, safe, fabulous place that children want to return to every day!
