My Students

I teach students with disabilities. I provide push in and pull out services to 9th grade students. My students are awesome! My classroom of exceptional learners engage and learn differently than traditional students. My students face many challenges in accessing the general curriculum, however, they understand what their special needs are and are committed to actively participating in the development of their academic goals.

My students are truly inspirational and awe inspiring; they are creative, resourceful, and absolutely love being challenged to think of new ways to approach learning and problem solving.

My Project

My project is geared to helping my students prepare for a successful academic year. I am requesting the weekly planners, notebooks, pocket folders, and storage bins the students will need to keep themselves and our classroom well organized (many of my students struggle with executive functioning tasks, so organization is a challenge).

My goal is to use academic and inspirational posters to highlight the skills we will focus on over the course of the year -math, literature, good study habits, and social and emotional learning- to build a positive classroom environment.

Finally, I am asking for the classroom basics that are oftentimes difficult to acquire - pens, pencils, highlighters, and markers.
