Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our high school is the largest in the district, serving inner city students from various social and cultural backgrounds. Our school provides free or reduced-price breakfast and lunch to students since the majority of them come from families earning an income less than $30,000.
Despite the city's deficit and lack of school funding, our students come to school with a positive attitude, ready to learn.
My students enjoy coming to art class, and I'm so proud with the work they do. I teach both introductory level art courses as well as advanced level art courses. I plan to take my students' artistic skill level up another notch. And with your help, we can make that happen.
My Project
These paints, markers, pencils, paper and other art supplies are exactly what my students need in order to be successful in art. We cover everything from 3-D realistic drawings and paintings to creative fantasy drawings and paintings. We explore various techniques with a variety of media.
One of my favorite project to cover is the monochromatic still life which students paint using shades and tints of a color.
I'm proud of the work they do, and hope to continue to advance them through challenging topics to enhance their skills as artists.
Without art supplies, it wouldn't be possible to run a successful art class. Your help in obtaining this goal would make this possible.
