Help me give my students distance learning with books! The books Over and Under the Pond, Mix It Up, and Eat Your Colors are books that are part of our preschool curriculum, but we don't have access to them.
Big things come in small packages! I am a special education/ESL teacher with 30 pre-kindergartners between the ages of 3 and 4. We have a very diverse classroom where students speak 3 different languages. In my class, 22 out of 30 students are English Language Learners. My classroom also has 50% special education students who need services from speech or physical therapy or sensory or social emotional supports as well as regular education students who attend school in either the morning or afternoon.
My students face challenges even at their young ages.
I would like to give them tools to help them discover the world around them and learn to embrace all cultures in our small community.
My Project
Since our school is closed for safety, our preschool students are learning from home. As a teacher who is trying to keep true to our curriculum, I want to be able to educate my students with books that we would have access to if we were in school. I would love to continue to educate my students with meaningful, standards-aligned books during this scary time using the books that are aligned to our standards and curriculum.
Books are so important for students.
When reading through our app Classroom Dojo, students are able to hear me when I read a story. This means that there is still that human connection which is critical in my 3- and 4-year-old students!
