Help me give my students the basic fundamentals of learning to use a computer. Having functioning keyboards will bring together my computer lab for over 600 students.
My school is in an over 95 percent low-income neighborhood in Philadelphia. We are beginning to learn not only the foundations technology but are beginning to do digital citizenship, coding and media design. The way our class is set up with online tutorials, recorded lessons and music editing, headphones are a necessity.
Our students aspire to be a part of a blue ribbon school and want to be a part of a new foundation at our school.
We want to lead the way in becoming a great neighborhood school for all of Philadelphia to model. We also have classes from K-6 coming in and out of the room so the robotics experience a lot of wear and tear. Having additional robots for each student will maximize hands-on learning with computer science.
Robots will allow for all children to be on a level playing field in the technology classroom. Especially for our AS, ES and ELL students, this will provide a more optimal learning environment. We appreciate your generosity towards our students!
My Project
Our students will be using the keyboards from grades K-6. Our lessons will vary from letter recognition, digital design, coding, Google Suite, digital citizenship and much more. Allowing for more access will help build 21st-century skills for our future workforce. Any help is greatly appreciated by our school community.
The best way to increase technology skills is to program, type and continue to gain confidence while using functioning technology.
My students already have shown an astonishing interest in computer literacy, The differentiated classes need working keyboards to help with typing and literacy-building activities. The programs we will use will help students become better navigators of the internet.
