Our school is situated in a suburb of Omaha and has been open for three school years. I have thirty students in my classroom this year. They are a group of courageous, compassionate and caring young people who work hard to make the world a better place just by being kind.
My students are very inquisitive and they love to learn!
They challenge me daily with questions that require a bit of research; they are always looking to find out the WHY behind the HOW.
My Project
The keyboards and stands I am requesting will be added to my classroom and used by my students throughout the school year. I am part of a cohort of 8 elementary teachers in my district with 1:1 iPad devices. Because of this, my students type a lot and utilize their iPads for research, digital collaboration with one another and other students across the country.
Typing with the on-screen iPad keyboard doesn't allow them to develop correct keyboarding skills, as it is difficult to use two hands on-screen.
The stands allow them to use their iPads while typing, as well as taking written notes during research collection.
