This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Project
We are very fortunate to have an iPad for every student and they are able to use these touch screen devices on a daily basis, but unfortunately they don't have keyboards.
I assign many writing assignments and I would like to implement the use of keyboards that can be shared.
At times, not having a keyboard can make it hard for my students to fully participate in activities. I want to provide my students with physical keyboards for their iPads so that they can learn a vital skill to prepare them for the future and minimize the errors that occur when the virtual keyboard does not work.
They are currently learning to type with the on screen keyboard on the iPad.
While it is working, it is not developing the best typing habits. They are using an online program to learn to type during our morning work, and they are so proud of their typing abilities already. These keyboards will help elevate their typing skills to a higher level!
