My Students
Our school is in an urban area in Virginia. We take pride in being the most diverse elementary school in our district and represent about 30 different languages that are spoken by our students. Our students and teachers love books and make reading a special part of each day. Along with motivating our students to read books they enjoy, our teachers are always working to increase our students' academic achievement and social-emotional skills. We are proud of our school community!
My Project
Our school is the only school in our district that has a STEAM lab for our students to learn about science, technology, engineering, and math in real world scenarios. Each classroom attends the STEAM lab, as one of our specials classes. Since this is the first year of our STEAM lab, we are always looking for new and creative ways to teach our classes cooperation, teamwork, planning, and perseverance. We would like to have these Keva Planks for our students to gain an an understanding of balance and proportion, and develop an interest in architecture. These building materials will help students understand the principles of physics and have fun learning together!
