My Students

I am a special education teacher with a case load of six students. These students range from 6th grade to 8th grade. My students have many struggles that they must overcome for them to be successful.

First of all, due to the socioeconomic status of the area that we live in, they do not have as many opportunities as other kids.

Also, because of their special needs, my students struggle academically. Despite these obstacles, they are hardworking and are highly motivated to overcome any deficits that they may have.

My Project

I teach in a very poor area in southeastern Kentucky. My school is a Title I school and money to purchase technology in my school is not available. My school has a computer lab that is shared by all classes preschool through eighth grade. Due to computerized testing and high demand of this computer lab, my students simply do not have the access to technology that they truly need in today's time.

Having these Chromebooks in my class will open up a world of resources to my students that will enhance their learning and instantly engage them.

My students will use them for progress monitoring, research, skill practice, and projects.
