Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Ours is an amazing school in Redwood City School District. We are current the only comprehensive middle school in the city. Our school is over 60% Title 1. We have almost 700 6th, 7th and 8th graders.
Our students come from all over Redwood City and are a great example of why Redwood City is such a great place to work and live.
Students love the chance to work with technology, bring ideas to life, interact with peers and educators in new ways, and learn to problem solve. They are also thriving in an environment in which they can make mistakes and learn from them.
My Project
We are starting a Maker Space here at our school. We are looking for donations to help start the our maker space. Students have already starting coming to the maker space, but through this DonorsChoose.org project, we are hoping to provide some flexible seating and additional storage options. We would greatly appreciate the donation.
In Maker Spaces students are given opportunities to work with technology, bring ideas to life, interact with peers and educators in new ways, and learn to problem solve, as well as, providing an environment in which they can make mistakes and learn from them.
