This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
The Lady Vikings Volleyball team has never been a priority at our school. These girls are Honors students and fantastic athletes! They deserve the equipment. It allows them to continue to show the world that SPORTS MATTER!
This amazing group of smart and dedicated girls are grades 8-12 and come from all over the City of Richmond to attend the International Baccalaureate program at TJHS.
Volleyball is how they CHOOSE to spend their extracurricular time. In an ever-evolving world of technology, this group of young ladies chooses to spend their time doing something they love that is good for them. The confidence they gain from playing a team sport will help them overcome the pressures teens are faced with today.
At a school where every student receives free breakfast AND lunch, spending money on sporting equipment can be a huge financial burden on these families. I'm hoping to get the equipment these girls need without putting a strain on any families.
My Project
If you've ever played sports, you know how much of a difference confidence can bring to your performance. Our team has quadrupled in 4 years and we need gear to show the world how confident we are!
Our amazing group of girls needs warm-up outfits so we can be ready to play right off the bus!
Instead of taking the time to change from jeans and fall clothes into our jerseys, these girls deserve to show up in style, ready to play, through the chilly fall air.
They have worked so hard in the past few years. I can't wait to see where all of this momentum takes us. Please help us be the NUMBER ONE RICHMOND PUBLIC SCHOOLS TEAM!
