Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I teach second graders at an urban elementary school in South Central Los Angeles. When you teach students they need to be equipped with the proper tools to do a great job on their task. If they are not given the proper tools at home as a school we need to provide for our students. My students need to know they will be taken care of, even if it is basic as a sharpener.

Due to the economic budget of the state. Our school is being severely effected in the supplies that are no longer being purchased. The students have been manually sharpening their pencils, which take away from their valuable learning time. They have to stop working and spend time sharpening their pencil , which often breaks when sharpening. Then they have to sharpen it again. The whole situation is very frustrating.

My students basic needs are not being met. Please help rectify this situation by purchasing an electric pencil sharpener for my second graders. Having a reliable pencil sharpener elevates a lot of time wasted manually sharpening their pencils.

Students work is also much neater and organized when they use a sharpened pencil verses a dull warn out pencil to complete assignment. Thank you so much for your support. My students truly appreciate such a generous gift.
