Keeping Up With the Competition.

My students need the iPads to allow coaches and players to compete with surrounding schools in football and baseball. For football, we use Hudl on the sideline and baseball uses Gamechanger to record stats.

Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

Our school is centrally located in a rural area in Alabama. There is an exceptional small hometown feel and everyone seems to be ready and willing to help one another. A sense of neighborly love is common among the small communities located in the area.

However, since the closing of a major manufacturing mill in the last few years, the economy in our little county has suffered.

The median household income has dropped almost $10,000 since the closing of the paper mill back in 2014. The impact not only has been felt in the homes but also in the local schools. A large part of the budgeted money used to come from the taxes from the mill.

My Project

Our booster club has purchased the Hudl sideline system for the football team. This allows coaches and players to watch the game immediately after every play. We are allowed to do in game corrections and show players different strategies. Baseball is a stat driven sport, and with iPads, we can keep these stats more efficiently.

For baseball, we use Gamechanger software and Hudl in football and that allows us to keep track of a games progress as well as looking at stats and tendencies for our players as well as opponents.

Having these recorded stats at our fingertips allows coaches, players, and parents to easily observe how the team is doing.
