This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach at the most wonderful public school in the heart of LA. Our school is a small school with less than 300 students from K-6. We are our own little community. We are a very different school where we have more than 12 languages spoken by our students. Additionally, we are a Title I school, so we do not always have the latest materials or technology for our students. Although we are working towards becoming a STEM magnet, we do not always have the most innovative products.

I am currently teaching the most enthusiastic group of 20 innovative second graders.

They are so eager to build, collaborate, learn, and engage in new ways. My students truly deserve to have the coolest, most advanced technology to help support their learning.

My Project

I am a second grade teacher teaching 24 students on an old desktop PC. I am asking for a new desktop computer where I can Zoom daily with my classroom with the newest up-to-date technology.

A new desktop will have a better built-in camera where they will be able to view me better.

During this time of virtual school, it is essential for teachers to have good technology to help support our students.

The old, outdated technology has presented several issues when trying to teach and help students access the lessons taught.
