Have you ever seen the excitement on a child's face when he/she gets to use a computer and/or tablet? I would like to provide that excitement for my students daily. We currently have a computer in our room that does not work and the disappointment on my kids' faces is devastating.
My students are the most loving and sweet kindergarteners who are eager to learn new things each day.
They come to school with smiles on their faces, ready for the new challenges. Our school is in a small community that doesn't get as much support as we need. Our school is a high poverty school, with about 75% of our children receiving free and reduced lunches. With this said, my students are not exposed to much technology and do not have many of the luxuries that we experience every day.
My Project
The doors will be opened for my students if we were to receive the Nabi 2 and a set of headphones. Due to the diversity of learners in the classroom, many students need alternative methods to showcase their learning. The Nabi tablet will allow my kindergarteners to show their learning using technology. The Nabi 2 would allow my students to engage in educational apps that would allow them to increase their learning capabilities. The tablet would also provide struggling students a different perspective on learning. They will be able to use the apps as an intervention before they fall too far behind.
The donations for this project will change the lives of my students forever.
They will experience the joy of learning that will carry over throughout their lives. My kindergarteners will be able to learn the necessary beginning reading and math skills that will make them successful in life past kindergarten.
