Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are curious and enthusiastic about their learning. My students love to learn and explore Spanish from different perspectives and points of view. They are always eager to learn about the culture and traditions of other Spanish-speaking countries. My students are always ready for a cultural adventure.
My Project
The materials for this project will help my Heritage and Spanish 1 students reinforce their reading skills in the target language. My Heritage 1 students will begin to read a book for the class, the bookmarks will help them keep track of the reading. The highlighters will be used to highlight key ideas on their books.
The donations to this project will allow my novice and intermediate students access materials that will make reading less stressful, more comprehensible and organized.
One of the Teachers Pay Teachers gift cards will be used to buy engaging short stories with comprehensible activities for my Spanish 1 students. The second Teachers Pay Teachers gift card will be used to buy engaging activities that will go along with the book (Antes de ser libre) that my Heritage 1 students will be reading. The pencils and folders will be used with both groups of students. Students tend to misplace their pencils, so I will have extra pencils for whenever they need one. The folders will be provided to the students who only have one folder for all of their classes. Thus, these students will have a unique folder for Spanish class. The glue sticks will be used throughout the school year for mini projects with all of my students.
