Help me give my students sensory items like aroma putty and liquid motion timers to reduce stress during virtual learning as well as supplies like a student agendas, agenda stickers, markers and pencils to help students keep track of assignments.
My students are hardworking, curious nine and ten-year-old fourth graders. They are Washingtonians who spend 5 to 6 days a week; yes, some Saturdays too, working to achieve academic success at a Title I school in a large, urban community. You can find us in our classroom learning math and science from 8:45 a.m. until 5:45 p.m. My students are two classes of around 20 students, whose needs range from English language learning, autism, ADHD, and other special learning needs. My students are the future, and they are full of energy and curiosity.
My Project
Virtual learning can be difficult for students. Because students are not in the classroom they need to be more independent. I have requested items to help students keep track of assignments and motivate themselves. The student agendas are colorful and easy to use, and the agenda stickers will make using them a fun and motivation experience for students.
Online learning in the time of COVID-19 can also be stressful for students.
I have also requested items such as fidgets and putty to help them reduce the feelings of stress and anxiety that they may be dealing with now.
