I teach 6th grade at the Albert N. Parlin School. The Parlin School is home to many wonderful students who have very little, but they come to school everyday ready to give it their all. My classroom is made up of students from all different cultural backgrounds. Many students are learning English as a second language while also trying to access the 6th grade curriculum. By having more technology in my classroom it will create more opportunity for learning for my students.
The Chromebooks in our classroom are a huge asset, however they are constantly drained of battery due to the fact that they are locked up in a cabinet with no access to an outlet. We need a charging station that locks to keep our laptops charged at all times as well as safe at all time. Many times students go to use the Chromebooks only to find out they need to be charged, so this charging station will eliminate that problem. While keeping them charged is important it is also just as important to make sure they are locked at all time when they are not in use.
