Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
We are a Title I school with 90% of our students on free or reduced-price meal plans. We have many English language learner (ELL) students at our school. Over half of my students are ELL students. Our students come from working families and families who speak other languages at home. Some parents are not able to communicate in English with us, but we do have Spanish-speaking translators on site.
Our staff is very caring and committed to providing a nurturing, fun, and engaging classroom for all our students.
We want students to know that we will be there for them and give them as much as we possibly can. One great thing about our school is that we have one-to-one devices with iPads or Chromebook computers. For many students, this is the first time they have been able to use and engage with today's technology.
My Project
I’ve got a class that loves color! We are in need of colored paper, markers and ink for class projects. These supplies will make our class much brighter as we will have lots of colors to choose from for our projects. We will use the colored paper for our class newsletters and for flip books. Flip books are a great way for my students to do research and fill in sections for all sorts of topics.
My class truly loves art time and to keep them merry, markers are just what we need.
I am requesting Mr. Sketch markers so my students can have fun using these bright markers for class posters and projects. We also need colored ink and black ink to use for finished projects that are ready to be showcased in our class. These items will make for a merry and bright time for sure!
