This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
There are 18 energetic three and four-year-old children in my class. The class includes both general and special education students. We have two teachers and a teaching assistant working in our room. Our school includes students from Pre-K through eighth grade. It is in a high poverty area, and about 95% of the students in the school receive free lunch. Our school is in a low-income neighborhood, where budget cuts have left no hope that materials will be purchased in the near future.
My Project
The paper towels will be used by the students and me to clean up everyday spills. Then I will use the Clorox Wipes to sanitize the tables, toys, and bathroom in our classroom. Cold season has started and so has my constant sanitizing. PreK students may be cute, but they can be walking germ factories at times.
Keeping my classroom clean and my students healthy is very important to me.
I ask my students families for some cleaning supplies at the beginning of the year and most of the students bring them in. However, they get used up so fast, and I know that the parents struggled to bring them in September. This is why I need the requested supplies
