This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students are some of the most creative, energetic you'll ever meet. They make me look forward to coming to school every day. I feel that I owe them the best experience possible in my class and strive to provide an environment that encourages exploration of ideas and investigations into how math appears in all phases of life. This learning environment will be best experienced when I can provide students true equity through equal access to technologies that allow their creativity to flourish and curiosities to be satisfied!

My Project

A set of android tablets will ensure that all students have access to technology that will allow them to fully engage in interactive web-based math activities as well as create our own math problems to explore and solve together! Tablets like these also help to create a class library of technology that they can use to complete assignments, projects, and take quizzes or tests at any time. The goal is to create a class culture that uses current technologies as a powerful tool for learning and as a means to integrate mathematics into their daily lives by using the tablets to capture real life math scenarios we can convert into relevant class content.
