My students need a dry erase board, a cork stripping, and markers so we have a designated place for them to copy their homework and to know what our schedule and agenda is for the day.
I am very excited to get this school year started. The group that is coming in August is energetic, excited and eager to learn. Despite coming from economically challenged homes these students are beating the odds and making some great strides academically.
Sixth grade is a big year for students.
It's the introduction to middle school and all of the changes that go with middle school. It can be a time where bodies and minds are changing. Your best friend from kindergarten might not be your best friend anymore and this is a challenge for any student. It is also a time where students want to fit in and this may mean leaving someone out. An important lesson that we try to teach our students is to be kind to each other...no matter what.
My Project
The materials that I am requesting , the white board and the cork stripping, will help the students to stay organized and able to focus on their assignments instead of where there assignments are posted. We will also be able to hang up some of the amazing work the students complete. The dry erase board will also allow students to show what they know in math. They will be able to go to the board and complete problems...who doesn't love that? I know I do and I am hoping my students do too. Organization is one of the keys to being successful!
