My students come from countries all over the world with vastly different backgrounds which makes them each especially unique. They are eager learners, excited to learn English, and how to read. For some, it is their first experience in school and for many, their first time being read to. They quickly begin to love books and learning! They are faced with many challenges as they live in high poverty neighborhoods and struggle to overcome language barriers, cultural differences, and gaps in their learning. They are strong and work hard to be the best they can be. The potential they have to succeed is enormous!
My Project
Our class has been so lucky and fortunate to have received donations of iPads. The children love these iPads and use them frequently to develop their reading fluency, practice math facts, and do research.
The iPads have been a tremendous resource for our class and we want to keep them safe.
Having charging stations would ensure they are always available and ready to be used. These resources have been very valuable and their protection is very important to us. We can also expand their use by connecting an iPad to our classroom projector to explore and learn as a class.
We are so grateful for the materials we have received and want to make the most of their use in our classroom. I have already seen huge growth in the students’ learning from these iPads and look forward to seeing the long term progress throughout the year.
